Here's a tour of our place!
Only half of the former Tile Factory was purchased in 2006 by the Holladay family ( Left-side), with the hopes and dreams of turning it into an Art Center for Europeans and artists from around the world. Though factories had occupied this site for centuries...the original burned down in the early thirties, and was rebuilt by the Government in 1934 as a "show case" for the German Nationalist Party. The historic emblem displays a Griffin over the doors on the right with the inscription, "Arbeit und Wille Formend die Welt" (Work and Will Form the World) And we would add....with God all things are possible!
Kandern is known for it's many walking and biking trails. A quaint turn of the century steam engine chugs through six or so villages between Kandern and the Rhine River near Basel, Switzerland.
We are located 30 minute's drive from the Basel/Mulhouse Airport in the southwest corner of Germany. France and Switzerland are both within twenty minute's drive
